April 12, 2013. His Excellency Eugene B. Holiday paid a working visit to the Immigration & Border Protection Service (IBP) on April 12, 2013. This working visit is part of the Governor’s program to promote Excellence in Governance through meetings with stakeholders in the field.
The Governor was welcomed at the Immigration and Border Protection Services offices on Illidge Road by the Head of the IBP Mr. Udo Aron followed by an introduction to the management team. Governor Holiday was given a presentation on the organization, policies, plans and activities of the department as well as of developments and trends in migration and border protection on Sint Maarten. After meeting with the management team the Governor visited the residency and admission section and the policy sections where he met and greeted IBP personnel. The working visit was concluded at the Immigration facilities at the Princess Juliana International Airport where the Governor received an extensive explanation and update from front and back office personnel regarding the border management and security features of systems used to screen travel documents and to monitored persons entering and leaving the country. The Governor emphasized the importance of the task of the IBP and encouraged the management and staff to maintain the highest standards in their work.
