Governor pays working visit to the Tax Department and Receiver’s Office

Harbour View – On October 23rd, His Excellency Governor Eugene B. Holiday paid a working visit to the Tax Department and the Receiver’s Office. This visit is part of the Governor’s program to obtain a firsthand view of developments with respect to the functioning of government. Previous working visits to government departments included among others the Fire Department and the Public Prosecutors office.
Governor Holiday was received by Mr. Geert Bergsma, Head of the Tax Department. The visit included a meeting with the management of the of the Tax Department among which senior staff members of the Inspectorate Department, the Receiver’s Office, the Control Department and the Section Support Services. The Governor was given a presentation about the functioning of the respective departments as well as regarding various current fiscal and tax-related projects and issues. After the presentation, the Governor toured the facilities at the Tax Department and Receiver’s Office, where the staff members were able to have a conversation with the Governor.
